The Prophet’s Joy at the Return of Ja’far

Hadith of the Day is a daily feature highlighting timeless sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the Ahlul-Bayt (pbut), offering insights into faith, ethics, and spirituality for contemporary life.

Hawzah News Agency- Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Alawi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from his grandfather who narrated from Dawud ibn al-Qasim, who narrated from al-Hasan ibn Zayd, who said: I heard a group from my relatives saying:

When Ja’far ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) returned from the land of Abyssinia, where he had been a migrant, and that was on the day of the conquest of Khaybar, the Prophet (pbuh and his family) stood up for him, kissed him between the eyes, and then said: ‘I do not know with which of the two I am happier: the return of Ja’far or the conquest of Khaybar.’
